need help with ps3 controller and thps2

downloaded thps2 earlier because i wanted to play it, i have my ps3 controller set up correctly and it works fine for thugpro - other than L2 and R2 being assigned to the same button

i wanted to use it to play thps2 but it only recognises the analog stick for turning, executing tricks, etc. which is a big problem for me since i cant play with it. i always use the d-pad, and have no idea how to set it up to use the dpad instead of the analog stick

anyone know anything about this?

thps2 is too old to have a proper controller support. you better use joytokey or xpadder.
