[THPS1 N64] Are you sure I have US version?

[THPS1 N64] Are you sure I have US version?

I had this game since I first got my N64 in Christmas 2005 (that's when I first started playing TH games!).


The cart clearly says "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater"

Here is the "Press Start" screen.

As you can see, it says "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding", the European name for the game, as the word "Skater" refers to ice skating in some countries. Are you sure I have the NTSC/US version or the PAL/European version? :help

All N64 versions of the game have the "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding" title screen image, including the NTSC U version. Nothing special.

Thanks! But I saw a Let's Play of the N64 version but the Press start screen said "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater". I wonder how?

Well then that's certainly interesting. I'm fairly sure my N64 NTSC U cartridge game also has the Skateboarding title screen. Maybe someone could examine a few different downloads of the ROM in a hex editor and scan for differences, although I don't think there will be any differences other than language text and that title screen.

i think i've seen somewhere that there were both pro skater and skateboarding titles on the same market due to mistake in the initial stack. i cannot provide the source now, but it least it would explain why there are different titles. it could be some article on planettonyhawk, but i'm not sure.

here's the pro skater logo. why would they use such awful font in menu...

Yeah. I like the PS1/DC fonts better.
