I was referring to the first installment of the game which is based on THPS1/2 I know they plan on doing a second installment which will be based on THPS3/4.
If they stayed true to the "only including stuff from THPS1/2" I could see them including the reverts in the next installment and everything would be fine.
But they should do just that and not be hypocrites and include stuff from other games, ruins their credibility/hinders their reasoning null and void.

You know, these are things that we cannot influence on, neither thousands of us, neither tony himself. publisher is the real power here... there are enough complaints already on fan page about what they doing. I honestly don't remember that they said anything about next game, only fans asking to do same with th3/4 levels. But what i remember is when they confirmed th3 dlc, Josh Tsui said that people awaiting reverts to be in the game, so they'll get it. It was random interview, so i'm afraid i can't confirm it by more specific link than the one above.

The second installment (THPS3/4 remake) will be determined on the success of the first installment (THPS1/2 remake) is what I believe the developers were/are saying. We already know our voice as a community has zero impact on the developers decision making. They either will or wont add the item.
There are more things I find wrong with game and personally would rather the developers fix those kinks before attempting to add reverts.
But what I and I'm sure others find to be a poorly coded game mechanism is perfectly fine to the developers.
